Sennheiser XS Wireless Digital
Sennheiser is pleased to introduce XS Wireless Digital, a new entry-level wireless series with a unique value proposition and a compelling form factor that expands Sennheiser’s reach to new customer groups. XS Wireless Digital (XSW-D) will launch at NAMM 2019, and will serve as the “good” tier for our MI and A4V wireless portfolios.
XS Wireless Digital is a plug & play, entry-level wireless series operating in the 2.4 GHz spectrum for license-free worldwide use. The new series consists of lightweight, compact plug-on transmitters and receivers, offering either XLR, jack (6.3mm, 1/4”) or mini jack (3.5mm, 1/8”) connections. A pedalboard receiver (shipping Q2 2019) will also be offered.
Developed with ease of use in mind, XSW-D can be thought of as a wireless “cable replacement”. It features a single-button interface and status indicator to handle power and linking tasks. Up to 5 systems can be operated simultaneously, thanks to Sennheiser’s automatic frequency and interference management technology. XSW-D devices also feature USB re-chargeable lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 5 hours of runtime.
XS Wireless Digital will be offered in the following retail-friendly configurations:
- Base sets to serve wireless cable replacement applications
- Value-added sets with additional components to serve common MI & A4V use cases
- Individual components to create customized applications
XS Wireless Digital can certainly be used for traditional MI and A4V applications such as band practices, club dates, vlogging or freelance video shoots. Several MI and A4V sets will be offered to show those use cases. But with the innovative form factor and streamlined operation, a wide range of applications such as wireless stage boxes or remote speaker links can be created; the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
XS Wireless Digital has been developed in conjunction with key customers, who helped validate the right price point and feature set required to create a compelling entry level “good” tier MI or A4V wireless products that will stand apart from – and above – the competition.
